Hammer Song

A poignant reflection on spiritual transformation, "Hammer Song" likens life's trials to a blacksmith's forge. The hammer's song invites us to embrace hardship, recognizing it as the Master's tool for shaping our character and revealing His image within us.

Hammer Song

by R. J. Wasinger Jr.

It's strange the song the hammer sings,
with every strike and pound that rings.
For as it works, I hear it's call,
"Come, to those who dare! Come all!"

"The Master Who is holding me,
must needs to form Himself in thee.
With circumstance, His forge to heat,
trials He wields as tools to beat."

"Be wary friend, my home is hard.
A wilderness and barren yard.
But beauty here, He's forming deep,
for all who yield, His image keep."

"It's worth it all!"
The hammer sings.
As He brings it down on me.

"Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy." Isaiah 54:16
